what? wait... no update since nov 08... damn! must be slippin. oh wait, that's about normal isn't it.. well, anyways, quick update. just moved in to a new space with massive. supa nice! intrinsik architecture designed the interior space, and it's dope... my kidrobot toys have a nice home in the front window for all to enjoy, or just wonder what the f*#k they are! been working quite a bit.. just enough to maintain the healthy doses of dirt jumping and bike riding that i require. i would post new images, but i'm pretty tired of the site, so my motivation to post new work is lacking. want to save it up for a new site.. which is coming down the pipeline. that's bout it for the moment. i'm sure there is more, but i wouldn't want to say to much, gotta stay with the man of few words theme i've been rolling with thus far. oh, hold up.. one last thing, gonna do another photo booth at the monster ball this halloween.. the music!! oh shit.. still a secret to the public, but damn, the headliner!! the headliner!! shit! is gonna be sooo good! not so stoked on the filler band in the middle of the whole evening, but the headliner will make you forget that the other band was even there.. peace

just walked in the door from a shoot in the deserts of southern california. mojave, joshua, colorado desert and death valley, and points in between.. it was a shoot for an upcoming issue of the LA Times Magazine, with a theme of a california road trip, as seen through the eyes of six different photographers, all with their own part of the state to document in their vision.. i was with paolo and we had the deserts..at the end of august!! HOT AS HELL! we shot three days, the first day it was 115 degrees, the second 110, and the third day, in death valley, it was 120 degrees!! completely surreal feeling, and actually scarey.. heat stroke was a serious concern... but shoot we did.. and lived to tell the tale..

wow kids.. not much of a blogger am i.. last post was upon return from the virgin islands, 4 months ago, and now that story is out in the August issue of Outside Magazine.. it's titled The 40 Year Old Virgin Swimmer.. check it out, pretty funny shit. and if you have access to the july issue of Outside, the story we shot down in Baja Mexico last fall, on the Sea of Cortez, about the jumbo squid, ran in that issue. if you want to see the shots of these insane creatures we encounterd and some really nice portraits, track that issue down. so since the virgin islands trip, i've been way busy, shooting and assisting as usual.. had a shoot in birmingham alabama. my first trip to the deep south. pretty damn interesting. the city itself was visually loaded. the downtown city center was virtually abandoned. all these really cool old buildings, but nothing in em. i guess in the late 60's, around the time the civil rights issues were really blowin up down there, people just moved out of the downtown area. there were a few signs of a rebirth, but still a long long way to go. other than that, a bunch of random work.. architecture, lifestyle portraits, some hot mountain bike action, the usuals.. a good amount of editorial and advertising work as well. and of course the bombs and tags series rolls on.. if you're out there passin through the site, drop me a line.. peace. d

Just returned from assisting on a week long shoot in the British Virgin Islands.. A trip of extreme highs and lows.. Starting with lost luggage and some crazy caribbean guy sticking something resembling a chicken foot claw in my hand, to the high of a comped stay at a 5 star beach resort, to the low of spending 24 hours on a 20 ft. piece of shit boat on rough water with no blankets or shelter on a windy rainy night, to the high of another comped night at an even more exclusive beach resort, to the low of sinking our boat on the last day of the shoot.. crazy ass shit.. needless to say, i'm feeling pretty lucky to have made it back from this shoot alive and in one piece.. all things considered, an experience of a lifetime..
